From what I can tell, most people view “The 21 Convention” as a formerly once (now twice) a year event, held in the United States and Europe annually.
And then there’s the footage that comes out every year from the events.
And then, a bunch of other random stuff like Facebook, the forum, etc … right?
Well, yes, and no.
In this sense, the live events are indeed the cornerstone of The 21 Convention, along with the corresponding event (and documentary) footage of insanely high quality.
However, I believe where most understandings of The 21 Convention fall short (unless you’ve been there live, or speak with the speakers/staff regularly), is in the belief that everything happens all at once.
While it may appear that way to the random visitor, the reality is, nothing could be further from the truth. People often ask how the events are of such a professional and well organized nature, and while there are a number of factors at play, a major one is that I and other staff have spent that last 12-14 months planning the live event, or the past 3, 4, 5, or even 6 working on a production launch like The Community Tapes.
The ‘magic’ is literally in the effort, and the effectiveness there of (in my opinion, fueled by the passion of everyone involved).
With all that said, the point is, The 21 Convention is not random spurts of activity, but an ongoing movement and effort by a growing number of individuals – people like you, taking the time to read this very post, and in the process, gain an understanding of the framework and infrastructure behind the event.
Which I think, is why this movement has been so successful. If excellence is a habit and not a single action, this convention and everything related is the epitome of this idea, with regards to it’s age and consistency in quality, ideas, and nature.
In any case, as the title suggests, NOW is a better time than ever to watch (review?) convention footage, and spread the word about The 21 Convention: The #1 Men’s Convention on the Planet.
This is primarily due to the installation of a new video hosting service and player that perfectly suits our footage, event and documentary alike.
It supports 2007, 2008, 2009, and Volume 1 of The Community Tapes perfectly – including the HD versions of the videos.
Best of all, it will support the coming 2010 footage (there’s a TON) like no other player can within our budget. It even allows you to skip around the footage like a YouTube video – rather than having to wait for a 2 hour video to load before being able to skip around it.
Better yet, if we can rack up enough views, I *believe* (don’t quote me on this yet) they will enable Itunes for the convention account, which would be a very easy way for us to distribute footage for download, and perhaps even audio at a low cost. I know a few of you have mentioned wanting to do this for Ipod and car use, I have not forgotten about it, and this would be an awesome way to accomplish it.
Finally, the new player allows for a few extra options that I will be announcing later – options that allow select users the ability to add special comments and links to the video itself, rather than on the site via WordPress. This means those interested in enhancing the videos by topics, chapters, and links to specifics websites can do so once approved for such action – on all of our footage. I’ll be keeping this limited to only a handful or two of people, so if you want in, just stay tuned.
…
OK, enough yapping already. The reason I mention this now is that this new convention video account is in a bit of a trial stage, and we need as many views as possible right now to ensure all of the above features. We’re right at the minimum number of views required for a premium account like this, and truth be told, I don’t expect the videos to pick up steam on their own until 2010 footage begins releasing, or, per this post, people like you review your favorite speeches and doucmentary interviews, and share them with friends.
The best thing you can do is grab a direct link to your favorite video, and send it to a friend.
“Dude, watch this. Seriously, sit down and watch this video, it could change your life.”
Facebook, e-mail, whatever. It’s really that simple, and powerful.
The second best thing you could do is share it on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites (like StumbleUpon), or better yet, write about a specific video on your own blog or website.
…
Okay so videos need to be viewed more than usual right now. Got it. What about this California thing?
Simply put, Peter Murphy and I are heading to LA for “Pua Summit” (September 25th-26th). I am flying out September 15th to spend some time in the area – probably staying in California through the first week in October (contact me if your couch is open, otherwise it’s Couchsurfing.com and hostels for me). Peter will be there closer to the event, and leaving right after it ends.
With that said, I encourage everyone that has the ability to attend, to do so. As most of you know, I had the chance to meet one of the founders in Stockholm at The 21 Convention.

I didn’t know what to expect, but I admit, I was pleasantly surprised. Vince Kelvin is a really cool, friendly, energetic guy, and I look forward to attending his event in California this month.
Is Pua Summit the same as The 21 Convention? No, not from what I can tell. They are separate events, with different focuses and topics discussed. Do some overlap? Certainly. But in the end, they are different events, at opposite ends of the country (or the world if you count Europe).
All that stated, again, I fully endorse this event – obviously Peter and I are going to it – and if you have the chance to attend on those dates, do it! The cost right now is $199. That price alone is worth seeing any ONE of the speakers in person like Dj Fuji, Adam Lyons, Erika Awakening, Jared Dwyer, and a bunch more.
In addition, as a fan of The 21 Convention, I will have a DVD copy of The Community Tapes ($30 value + shipping costs), sent free to the first 5 individuals who sign up through The 21 Convention.
To sign up for Pua Summit you can click the PayPal button below. (And you can find out more about the event at PuaSummit.com)
See ya in Cali
